Rachel and Fan got married in the luxury Villa Cimbrone in Ravello Amalfi coast, a dreamy destination wedding venue, a 12th Century country residence located on a stunning cliff of the Amalfi coast.It offers, for sure, an epic view of all the Amalfi coast. Rachel (Chinese and American citizen) and Fan (Chinese and Danish citizen) decided to get married in Ravello but to include in the wedding their own family traditions that is why in the planning of the day we included the Chinese Tea ceremony in which the bride and groom express respect to their families. The tea ceremony It’s called jing cha in Chinese and literally means, ‘to respectfully offer tea’ Before the tea ceremony hilarious door games took place. The groom had to reach the bride to take her.

Chinese Ceremony in Villa Cimbrone Ravello

The Chinese Tea ceremony is undoubtedly one of the most important wedding traditions in the Chinese culture. It represents the formal introduction of the newlyweds to their families and shows their respect and gratitude towards them. In return, the newlyweds are welcomed into the family and receive blessings for their union. After the Tea Ceremony the bride had her getting ready with her bridesmaids. Funny moments! After the getting ready the bride wore her second wedding dress of the day. Few hours later the Tea Ceremony the couple decided to plan a Civil Ceremony in the stunning gardens of Principessa di Piermonte in Ravello. In Italy, civil ceremonies can only take place at the Registry Office of the Town Hall or in other venues owned by the city Council. During the Ceremony the three articles of the Italian civil code were read and then the couple exchanged their vows and then  their rings. The maid of honor read a really touching and romantic poem. The romantic music of an Harp + Violin were the background of this touching romantic ceremony. A tradition guitar and mandolin duo accompanied the guests after the ceremony to the wedding reception venue and in particular to the breathtaking gardens of 2.O in Villa Cimbrone. The musicians chosen during the cocktail hour were a traditional mandolin and guitar duo in order to add a special local touch  to this International and modern fashion  wedding. After the Cocktail hour the guests and later the bridal couple joined the Cimbrone’s Garden of 2 fountains for the wedding reception. The bride changed her third wedding dress. Stunning garden of 2 fountains in Villa Cimbrone. It is a magical sea view garden, with a breathtaking sea view and . As soon as the couple joined the wedding banquet the speeches took place. In the garden the couple decided to have an imperial table under very elegant gazebos with chandeliers. The gazebos in villa cimbrone are usually 6 meters x 3 meters each. The gazebos had a luxury decor with flowers hanging from ceiling.

CUTTING OF THE CAKE AND DANCING

At around 10:30 p.m. the cutting of the wedding cake took place in this mystic and romantic setting. The cake was a three layers sponge cake filled with milk chocolate cream. After the cutting of the cake the first dance took place . After the first dance we planned a Danish tradition, the guys picked up the groom, took off his shoes, and cut his socks. Apparently it is for the guy to see how good his new wife is at sewing. After that the disco started. Music chosen for dinner and after dinner: a DJ   Villa Cimbrone is forever our favorite wedding location for an exclusive and luxury wedding in Ravello.

At 12:00 Tea Ceremony in the bridal suite At 1:30 p.m. end of Tea Ceremony At 1:30 p.m. Hair stylist at Villa Cimbrone – as soon as the Tea Ceremony is ended he can start with the bridesmaids At 4:45 p.m. Interpreter and Musicians (Harpist and Violin) near the altar At 4:45 p.m. Guests join the Ceremony area At 5:00 p.m. The public officier will be at the Ceremony At 5:00 p.m. CIVIL CEREMONY – Giardini della Principessa – Ravello 6:30 p.m. Arrival of the guests at Villa Cimbrone with a guitar and mandolin duo 6:30/7:00 p.m. Pictures in the gardens 7:00 p.m. Aperitif in the garden of the 2 fountains Mandolin and Guitar 8:00 p.m. Guests move to reception area in the garden of the 2 fountains – sound system and DJ Speeches: 3 speeches  using the rented sound system with mycrophone 8:30 p.m. Dinner starts in the garden – sound system and mandolin and guitar 10:30 p.m. Cutting of the cake and dancing in the garden –  DJ 00:00 End of wedding reception.
